The Funeral ceremony of singer Alex James PIERRE, known as Black Alex at Eglise St-Pierre of Pétion-ville, this Friday, November 27, 2015

The famous Rap and Ragga artist from 'King Posse' band Jamency "Black Alex" Pierre, whose real name was Jamecy Alex Pierre, passed away on November 13, 2015 at the age of 39 after prolonged illness. The singer had a great knack for painting as well. He was admitted to the Haitian community Hospital in the capital city with complications of tuberculosis. The threat of death was nothing new to him. In 2006, while he was coming out of a concert he was robbed at gunpoint, the robbers shot him four times. In 2012, Black Alex was hospitalized in critical condition with pneumonia. One posthumous album of Alex will be released shortly and all of its proceeds will be accumulated for the benefit of his daughter Alexandra, till she reaches 18. On November 26th, painters and actors were present to pay tribute to his departed soul at the Place Boyer. His funeral will be sung in the Saint Peter's Church in Petionville (outskirts of the capital), on the morning of Friday, November 27, 2015.
