Welcome to Cotes de Fer, Haiti

Côtes-de-Fer is located on a 190.36 square km area in the Southeast of Haiti. The place also nicknamed by "coast of beauty" is surrounded by 'Bainet' on the east, the borough of Aquin & Miragoâne on the west, and Petit-Goâve and the Caribbean Sea on the north and south respectively. It lies at the mouth of the River Côtes-de-Fer, which forms the boundary with the Southern Department.

The area with its 70,000 population has six rural sections-- Gris-gris, Labiche, Amazon, Bras de Gauche, Boucan Bellier and Jamais Vue. The inhabitants mainly live on fishing. Here, you can find large varieties of season fish, lobsters and conchs. In the mountain area they grow large quantities of cachiment, corossole, mango, papaya, grenadine, sapodilla, etc. Agricultural products like banana, potato, corn, petit mille, peas, yam and cassava are grown for local consumption.

The people of Côtes-de-Fer are very courteous, helping, and courageous and have great talents for art and music. Despite their Christian beliefs, many of them take part in voodoo and other occult practices.

Côtes-de-Fer is full with abundant gifts of the nature. The relaxed lonely sea beaches with stunning coastal views instantly impress every visitor with warm hospitality. Its flawless sands are tickled by palms and want-to-dive-into the seas where globalization has yet to erode its pristine traditions.
