The music style Zouk originated in the caribbean, mainly in the islands of Guadeloupe, Martinique, Haiti, Dominica and St. Lucia. Zouk came from Compa music from Haiti and cadance music from Dominica. Most of Zouk songs are written in Creole. It is very popular in France, Canada.
