From One first Lady to another. Former Haitian First Lady Michele Bennett Duvalier come on support to Martine Moise to tell her to be courageous.
Michèle Bennett was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in 1950. The Bennetts are lightâ€'skinned mulattoes (of mixed race) from a largely black country. Bennett moved to rural New York state, where she was educated at St. Mary's School in Peekskill. In 1980, she married President Duvalier and the wedding was estimated to cost an unprecedented US$ 2 million and was received enthusiastically by the majority of Haitians. Accusations of corruption plagued the Duvalier-Bennett marriage
