Michel Martelly, Discours d'adieu à la Nation - 7 fevrier 2016.

With the departure of Martelly as President, the fragile democracy of the country has returned to a state of uncertainty. On February 14, 2016, through a controversial agreement, Jocelerme Privert, the former President of the Haitian Senate has been installed as the interim President for 120 days. As per the agreement, Privert has to complete the remaining election process and a credible way and install a new President of the Republic within May 14, 2016. Presently, Prime Minister Evans Paul is maintaining his office with limited uncertain power until an interim government is established. Martelly's departure has not resolved all the issues; it has created a power vacuum and that too at a time when Haiti is facing tremendous challenges from all sides whether it is political, constitutional, economic or law and order.
