US Secretary Kerry Meets and Haitian Prime Minister Evans Paul in Washington

Here is a video of the visit of Prime Minister Evans Paul in Washington D.C. He is with US Secretary John Kerry.

Haitian Prime Minister Evans Paul visited Washington on a three day tour (September 16 to 18) with a well prepared agenda. He was accompanied by Fritz Jean Louis, his Delegate Minister for electoral matters and Godson Orélus, the DG of the National Police of Haiti. On September 17, he met the US Secretary of State John Kerry, and they gave a joint press conference before a closed door meeting. It has been learnt that their conversations were mainly centered around the importance of the upcoming Haitian election and the recent migration conflict between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The Haitian Prime Minister has expressed a firm determination that his country is capable to promote the conditions necessary for the continuation remaining electoral process and ensure the continuation of path for democratic changes. In the next January (2016), the country is determined to have a democratically elected parliament and a democratically elected president on February 7. Prime Minister Paul also visited the Headquarters of OAS and met its Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General of the Organization.
