Arrest of activist Rony Timothée - Live Video

Here is a video of the arrest of leader of the organization "Patriotic Force for the observance of the Constitution" (FOPARK), Rony Timothy.

Last Saturday, Police in Haiti took into custody Rony Timothy. He was charged with disturbing public order as well as fire set in a vehicle and a gas station in the Haitian Capital.

On Monday, Judge Charles D. Kerson ordered his incarseration at the prison of Archahaie

The supporters of the opposition as well as the press were gathered on monday outside of the court house in Port-au-Prince. They denounced the arbitrary arrest and many in the crowd held President michel Martelly personnally responsible.

His attorney, Andre michel and Newton Saint-Juste condemn the arrest of Rony Timothée. According to attorney Newton Saint-Juste, the arrest was an illegal act and this marks the beginning of political repression in Haiti.
